Throughout my photographic journey, capturing portraits has been a profound and transformative experience. Each portrait offers a unique glimpse into the soul of a stranger, revealing stories of resilience, joy, sorrow, and hope etched into their faces.

Through the lens, I am granted the extraordinary privilege of stepping into myriad lives, each with its own narrative and depth. These portraits are not just images; they are windows into different worlds, allowing me to live many lifetimes in a single moment. The connection forged in those brief encounters enriches my own life, weaving a tapestry of shared humanity and diverse experiences that continue to inspire and move me.

According to Balzac’s theory, every physical body is composed of countless ethereal layers, resembling an infinite number of delicate, leaf-like skins stacked upon each other. Balzac held the belief that humans could not create material substance from mere apparitions—essentially, making something out of nothing.

Consequently, he theorised that whenever a photograph was taken, one of these spectral layers was stripped from the body and captured within the photograph. With each successive exposure, an additional ghostly layer, representing the essence of life, was inevitably stolen.
